Commotion in Motion

PixelHaze and 5c Services launched the rural networking meet-up , Commotion in October 2018 with the aim to bring local business owners and employees together in an informal environment.

In early December, we held our third commotion cool-down event and we are (cautiously) delighted to announce that it is a growing success. As word spreads throughout Mid Wales, the Friday afternoon/evening meet-up is quickly gathering momentum.

For those of you who are yet to discover Commotion, it is an informal networking event geared towards start-ups and SME’s in Builth Wells and the surrounding area. In fact it is so informal that we have banned any ‘official talks/sales pitches’ and have instead focused on a relaxed and social environment. We meet at 5:15pm on the first Friday of the month at one of the many pubs of Builth Wells (notifications are sent one week in advance via the Commotion Facebook group).

We had two key objectives for commotion, the first was to recreate the Friday afternoon culture that I had been accustomed to during my agency days in Cardiff. This involved switching off the emails, locking the office doors and sneaking out at 5pm on a Friday for that much needed de-stress with a pint. It was our form of group therapy, a process that has been mastered by Kat's company, 5c in Builth Wells over the past few years. As a result it made complete sense to look to roll out this process in Mid Wales. It’s great for both business and wellbeing.

If you would like to join us at our next event (Friday 4th January), please feel free to get in touch or join the Commotion Facebook page for regular updates.
