PixelHaze Coronavirus update - March 2020
On the back of the coronavirus outbreak, We have been thinking of ways that we can utilise the resources we already have in place to do our bit for our community (online and off-line).
We will be rolling out the following measures by Tuesday of next week:
Reduction in price for PixelHaze Academy
Our PixelHaze Academy membership plans will be tweaked to provide a 2-tier subscription for standard (£35 per year) and plus (£75 per year). Both plans will include full access to all of our existing PixelHaze Academy courses and a wave of new course content that we will be creating over the coming weeks and months. The new courses will include Canva workshops and as of next week, a toolkit of training resources to enable to you for you to run your business from home. The plus plan will also include an additional 3 25 minute remote support blocks (using Zoom). You will be able to book support sessions via PixelHaze.Academy or pixelhaze.co.uk

Support (Via Zoom)
Starting from Tuesday, 24th March we will be moving the majority of our support to our preferred video conferencing tool, Zoom. You can book in your support block by visiting this page: https://www.pixelhaze.academy/schedule-a-121
During the next few days, we will be creating some helpful video tutorials showing you how to use this setup with minimal fuss.
Project Cabin Fever
In a somewhat frantic effort to support those who may be isolated over a long period, we are working closely with local organisations and councils to deliver an online planner via Squarespace, outlining a number of remote video workshops, courses and activities available in our local area. This will include a wide and wacky range of in the home fitness regimes, dance classes, boxing, wine groups and even virtual pubs. They’ll be a range of free and paid events for you to choose. One of our leading companies in this matter, Back to Roots will be launching a daily program from Monday with many more to be added soon. Watch this space!
The remote class care pack
To get up and running and join our programs, all you need is a decent Internet connection (we recommend 5mbps+), a computer, tablet or phone with a front-facing camera and microphone. We will also be providing additional guidance of how you can check your Internet speed, test your local network and other tips like hooking up your laptop to your TV as soon as we can get them out to you!
Get involved
We understand that there will be large sections of the community that will find the initial step to getting up and running with video conferencing software like zoom to be quite a challenge. unfortunately, this approach will not be perfect due to the range of technical obstacles in some instances (like slow or non-existent internet connection), so, for now, we are going to focus on the areas where we can help quickly.

If you’re not based in the Builth Wells, we will be putting a little pack together to show you how you can create this project in your local area. If, like us you are looking to use Squarespace to promote this information, we can build your website and reduced fee or provide ad-hoc remote support sessions to help your community to communicate and stay active through the coming months.
Commotion
Our local networking event will be running as normal (well, as close to normal as we can get) over the coming months and we will be moving into cyberspace to achieve this. As always there will be an open invite, so grab a beer and join us at 5:15 pm On Friday, the 3rd of April for our strangest Commotion meet up yet! A quick guide showing how you can join us will be available in due course.
